Even with a high end device, do not expect "modern" arcade games from the 90s and beyond to necessarily work at full speed or compatibility. This version of MAME4droid was designed to be used with dual-core Android devices because it is based on the PC MAME version which requires higher specifications than the older versions. * MAME4droid is an EMULATOR and DOES NOT INCLUDE ROMS OR COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL OF ANY KIND. It emulates arcade games supported by this version of MAME which includes over 8000 different ROMs. The biggest obstacle being maybe, the lack of tweakability of mame on the phone maybe.MAME4droid (0.139u1) is developed by David Valdeita (Seleuco) as a port of the MAME 0.139 emulator by Nicola Salmoria and the MAME team. Makes me wonder though, has anyone setup a cab using a phone, or tablet ? given mini-hdmi output and something like this: it's very doable, extremely low power use too. You can connect most Bluetooth gamepads to Android without needing Root access, though for a PS3 controller it's a different story. I have a similar thing I bought on ebay, but it is basically a Bluetooth controller, with a bracket built in. Actually I now have some spare controllers to do it again since my second PS3 died on Sunday. I used to use the sixaxs app with my phone hooked up via HDMI to my tv at home, works quite well. If you are using the sixaxs $ app then yes you need root, if you have paired it using standard bt pairing you do not but the controller operates differently than with the app.

I should put up a thread about it in so more people can see it.when playing mame on it I often think how amazed I would have been if I had of seen this back in the 80's when I was playing my Manhole Game and Watch :) Yeah it's great for portable gaming, works for most Android games, mame games look fantastic on my Samsung S6 and people who see it often ask about it and where I purchased. The holder is a quality product and holds firmly, but only in landscape, to play vertical games I can balance the phone in the holder and play but it's just sitting there and could fall out if you get carried away and start swinging it about :) My phone is "rooted" I can't remember if you need root access to set up the controller Bluetooth, I think you do, instructions are on the website anyway. That is my first and so far only custom made purchase that has been made with a 3D printer, I bought it from and I bought a secondhand PS-3 controller from eBay especially for it. What is holding the phone to the controller?
